“Getting pole the shootout for race one was definitely one of the favourite moments from the weekend. It was a great way to start the year, and of course the race win was also really cool. We’re heading to Melbourne next, I’m aiming and the team is aiming for consistency. Consistency has a big impact on the overall championships. It’s pretty cool to know that after weekend one, the team is back at the front of pitlane. Obviously the live pitlane allows for those changes, there are always positives and negatives to these kinds of things but the team is just happy to be back at the front. I found it pretty cool to race on the hard tyres this weekend, we definitely saw less marbles on the track. The team all did an awesome job this weekend, and we’ll be working hard back at the workshop to make a few tweaks before round two but overall, the weekend was a great one for the team.”

“Going into today I was pretty keen to get the Larry Perkins Trophy. I’ve driven with Jack (Perkins) for three years and became great mates with him and met Larry through that. There’s been some great names win this trophy and I was just excited to win it. Overall, we had a great weekend. I got three seconds in a row, so it would’ve been nice to get another win but it was still an awesome bank of points and great results all round and a great start to the year. I felt like a lot of people were racing really hard out there going for that one win. There were a couple of mistakes made, so I was able to pick a few drivers off and get up the front. I was able to get past Broc and tried as hard as I could to get the win, but we didn’t have the tyres to maximise it unfortunately.”

“We had a good qualifying today and managed to qualify P4 on the second row. I felt like I didn’t get a good lap in Q3 which was disappointing because it felt like we could’ve been on the front row, but Chaz (Mostert) was very fast. I didn’t get the best start in the race due to a bit of wheel spin, and Cam (Waters) got in front of me and Broc (Feeney) also almost got past me. We couldn’t pass the guys in front so I came in for my pit stop and changed four tyres and was able to jump Cam in the pits and chase Woody (Ryan Wood) down. I had an awesome battle with him and he did a great job of playing the team card and making sure I used my tyres by making it hard to catch Chaz. After getting past Woody, I cooked my tyres a bit and I didn’t have anything for Chaz at the end. The Walkinshaw cars are very fast, so we have to look at ours tonight and hopefully try to win a race tomorrow.”

“Qualifying went really well for us. I was hoping to get on the front row but Chaz (Mostert) just pipped us at the end there which was disappointing. Starting third, I didn’t get a very good start which is something we’re going to have to look at after this weekend because I struggled with them all weekend. My tyres started to get a bit hot and we dropped off a bit and I struggled to get close to (Thomas) Randle. We decided to do four tyres in the pits and the boys did a mega stop to get us back out there and only lose one spot. After that, I was able to drive up and get Randle and had a pretty good exchange with him. I’m a bit disappointed that he ran off – I thought it was touch-and-go with who was at fault, but it is what it is. Overall, I think we consolidated very well with our points because I don’t think we had the fastest car this weekend, so we have to look at the drawing board but nonetheless, a good points haul.”
