For the first time ever, a Supercars Champion will be crowned through the all-new Finals series. From the high-flying streets of Surfers Paradise to the treacherous Victorian weather at Sandown, we’ve made it to Adelaide!

And wow, hasn’t it been fun? Both of the Bulls have made it in, and as the only two-car team in the Grand Final at Adelaide. Regardless of the noise, two is always better than one, right? Chaz and Kai will fight on with outside support – and sure, that might be a crucial factor at points across the weekend, but the best man will win on Sunday afternoon, regardless of who sits in their corner.

Adelaide has a special place in Triple Eight hearts. Although gone are the years of JDub, Lowndesy, and SVG carving their name into the Parklands circuit, our current Bulls know how to get around. No one can forget BFeen’s emotional 2022 win as Holden’s last hurrah, while Will shocked the Supercars world by running from last to first, en route to winning his first Adelaide 500 and Supercars Championship.

Will pulled one of the great blinders on the field at Sandown. Qualifying woes continued to plague him, while simultaneously pulling out Usain Bolt-esque race pace to charge his way to 2nd and 3rd place finishes. Seriously, the swing of emotions in the garage could be drawn to losing your keys for an hour, only to find them sitting in the door lock, exactly when and where you need them. PHEW. Look for Will to throw the kitchen sink at qualifying this weekend, where a spot inside the shootouts across the weekend could make Brown a serious threat for an extremely timely race win or two.

B-Feen keeps doing what he has been doing all year. A 4th on Saturday was solid, but not the target. Unhappy, Broc put the #88 on pole and ran a race exactly like he has all year on Sunday. Snapping the #25’s impressive Finals run, Broc’s Sunday race win put him firmly on the front foot. And with points buffer heading to South Australia, Broc’s tremendous 2025 form is one step closer to being rewarded.

However, everything changes next week. 4 has to become 1. 3 races, and 3 chances to lay a hand on the championship trophy. Chaz brings career experience, while Kai brings a heavy underdog status. The rest of the field doesn’t care for a championship win; an Adelaide win can revive anyone’s season with ease. It all comes down to this, and we can’t wait.

Will Brown
Driver #1 Chevrolet Camaro
Red Bull Ampol Racing

“We’re preparing well. It’s been a massive six weeks with pretty much one weekend between each event. And it’s been extremely busy so we’re trying to prepare as best we can. We’ve had three days to turn the cars around. Broc and I are in the workshop, we’re doing simulator work, debriefs, pre-briefs, getting ready to go. It’s a big week for us. We actually get there on Sunday – we’re there for a week and three days. So it’s a massive week heading into the Grand Final, but it’s looking really exciting. I’m feeling confident going into there. I felt confident going into Sandown. Our qualifying wasn’t where we wanted it to be, but we really raced strongly. Our side of the garage is building confidence going into Adelaide, definitely after our last round.”

“I think on-track stuff, you’ve got to play it by ear. You never know what’s going to happen until you’re in the situation. You qualify on pole and get out in the lead, and none of those team tactics really work. But when you’re coming through the pack like I was, there are always those team tactics you have to watch out for. But generally, the fastest car wins at the end of the day. So, we’ve got to go to Adelaide, trying to put our best foot forward with a really good setup, me driving well, and try and see where we come out. Like I say, it’s down to four guys now. We’ve given ourselves a good shot at actually winning the title again, so hopefully we can come away with a championship.”

“My approach is just to try and get in the shootout each day. I feel like in the shootout we can do a good job and be further up the front. We’re trying to put our finger on our qualifying at the moment, but haven’t figured it out yet. We haven’t been able to pinpoint what it is. So, we are doing a lot of simulator work, we’re looking at setup, we’re looking at our run plans and everything to try and make sure we give ourselves the best shot.”

Broc Feeney
Driver #88 Chevrolet Camaro
Red Bull Ampol Racing

“I’m just really excited, to be honest. Like, obviously, it’s been an awesome season. But this Finals series is something else. There’s been a lot happening in the first couple of rounds. To make it as the points leader into the last round is super important. I am genuinely just stoked and pumped to go racing. It’s the biggest week of my racing career, probably the biggest week of my life coming up.”

“So, just looking forward to it, ready for what’s to come and just excited. Adelaide is an awesome track, I love racing there, and I’ve had some great results. Certainly, the past couple of weeks have been a very short turnaround, but just full focus on making sure we’ve got the fastest car possible come next week.”

“Everyone is racing extremely hard, but it’s the pointy end of the season, so you can expect hard racing. The racing has been different when there were ten guys in the final, with seven guys in the final, and now only four guys in the final. You can probably expect the other guys to be racing pretty hard with nothing to lose now. So, it’s going to be exciting for us. I’m not focusing on anyone else apart from ourselves. And I know that when we do the best job we can, we’re capable of good things. And that’s the goal for us, to do the best job that we can. If we can do that, I’ve got no doubt we can go on and win some races.”

The Adelaide Grand Final commences with a single practice session on Thursday, before the boys slug it out for $50,000 on Friday. Probably need to win tomorrow to stay in it so that’s what we need to go out and do.”

Broc Feeney – Car #88

Practice 2 – 3rd (1:18.8480)
Qualifying (Race 32) – 1st (1:18.9640)
Race 32 – 4th
Finals Standings – 1st

“We made a huge gains overnight which was awesome. Probably struggled a bit more than we thought yesterday and to make a big gain overnight is a credit to the team and a great result for us to go in to the first race with.”

“Went out and got pole position, still a bit of a messy session, still didn’t really feel on top of it throughout qualifying, but to get poll number seventeen was obviously awesome. Didn’t think at the start of the season that would be a thing but to get that record was awesome.”

“Watched the rain come in before the race, fair bit of rain too. Had a decent start, ran up the front for a few laps and then made a bit of a mistake which let some past, but just didn’t have the pace of the front three. So we dropped back a fair bit, need to do some work in understanding what we need to do to be better in these conditions. Obviously we were fast in the wet at Sandown but not quick enough today in the wet.”

“Anyway, lots to learn overnight.
Positive day, we were good in the dry before that rain, we’ll just have a look what the weather is going to do on the weekend then take learnings from today to roll out ready.”

Unfortunately for us the shootout times were just getting better and better as the track changed through that session.”

“Getting into the race, got not too bad a start, moved up to I think third at one stage, third or forth but then could see we just didn’t have the pace towards the end no matter how hard we fought. Chaz got me then it was all about keeping Kai behind me. All four finalists up there battling it out was cool, but it was hectic, we’ve all got something to fight for, we were all still in it.”

“Ended up in fourth but behind both Broc and Chaz, so tough old race and tough day but we are still in it and I know we’ll work on the car and come back even stronger tomorrow for one last crack at it. We want to be up there again, we need to be at the front and get that race win to see where that lands us in this battle.”

Broc Feeney – Car #88

Qualifying (Race 33) – 3rd (1:19.0024)
Top Ten Shootout (Race 33) – 1st (1:19.9716)
Race 33 – 1st
Finals Standings – 1st

“Obviously yesterday that poll gave us a lot of confidence going in to today, then it felt like we just made the car better throughout the qualifying session. We got in to the ten and felt good doing it, felt like we could absolutely challenge for pole position and set ourselves up for what I knew was an important race day.”

“Lots of oil down for the start of the shootout, once we got around that we were just able to execute a really good lap, poll by half a second was pretty awesome, it’s another confidence boost for me and in the car for the team.”

“Race start was hectic, I got passed around the outside, got out through the grass and it was jumping everywhere, meant we had quite a few problems in that first part of the race. On top of that we had some technical issues where the engine was sort of cutting out for a bit. As well we took a little bit of damage at the start of the race so all of that and I was really sort of flustered for that first part of the race.”

“We recovered, all came good as we went along and we were able to fight our way forward. To be honest, I didn’t think I was going to have the chance to fight Woody for the win, but the opportunity came up and I took it.
There was a little hole and I was able to fill it, put the car in there and get the move done, go on to walk away with another win.”

“So stoked, the team, they put me in that position to win the race today so huge credit to them. Obviously one win today, hopefully we go for another one tomorrow, one more that’s what we need. Definitely the goal is to go out and get pole position and try and win the race. First and foremost that’s a goal. We can always make improvements and be better tomorrow, so we’ll go do that, go for the win… the easiest way to score big points is be out front.”

There were some fast laps that went down.”

“So we started, made up some spots and after that just felt like we were driving around for most of the race. Yeah a bit happened at the start, saw that. Had to focus on my pace and may race but that was disappointing to see on lap one. Finished on the podium. That’s a nice way to end the season but it’s not the way we wanted to finish up. We were in it until the end and wanted it, didn’t get it.”

“We’ve not had the best season, there’ve been things we’ve needed to fight through and things to work on for next season but to come in to the first year of the Finals and get all the way to the end like we did is a plus.”

Broc Feeney – Car #88

Qualifying (Race 34) -2nd (1:19.1943)
Top Ten Shootout (Race 34) – 8th (1:20.3985)
Race 34 – 20th
Finals Standings – 3rd

Jamie Whincup, Team Principal, Red Bull Ampol Racing

“Today, final race of the season and a Championship deciding race, it’s a very difficult one to talk about. I don’t know what to think, to be honest. We had the engine issue with #88 yesterday and then we we changed absolutely everything going in to today, so we came out this morning thinking it was fine. No issues in qualifying, no issues in the shootout, everything fine. It was going up until lap fifteen then the engine just started to misfire, that put the car five or more abouts seconds off the pace per lap and from then on it’s all over.”

“So ultimately that was the issue, that stopped any fightback that Broc was making. But turn one, I don’t want us to sound like the sore loser, we’re not.”

“We feel like this season and this weekend and for the team we deserved it, we deserved to do well today and be up there. But for one reason or another we didn’t get it. I don’t know why we deserved that, what happened, we didn’t deserve that but that’s what happened.”

“Will did a phenomenal job today to stay in the race and stay in the battle all the way up until the end. To finish on the podium is a well deserved result and caps off a Finals series where he’s shown everyone why we have the faith in him we do as a team.”

“Broc has had an incredible year, one of the standout years for any driver. Today was a disappointing day for Broc, that car and a team who didn’t deserve the season to finish that way. We’ve got to make sure we look after him (Broc), certainly the next day or two because with things like this they can be heavy, they can go either way. Anyone that dedicates everything to a cause and it doesn’t come off, it can go either way. We’ll just monitor him, make sure it goes the way it should go and we want it to go and that he takes great strength from it.”

I literally then had a moment to myself and said there’s no pressure, I’m just going to go out there and have some fun and drive back through the field as much as I can, and all of a sudden I started to pick a few people off. Andrew (Edwards) came on the radio and said we’re seventh, and then we’re fifth, and I though that was pretty cool. When I got into a podium position, I was stoked with that, but then there was some commotion up ahead and I got through for the win. It was cool to get the win after what happened.
“It was really cool to get pole in qualifying, but then to back it up and get pole in the shootout was awesome. I was pumped with the lap and it obviously sets us up well for the race. For the race, obviously Chaz (Mostert) got me at the start of the race through the first chicane. We made a couple of mistakes and were a little bit slow in our pit stops and got caught in some traffic which cost us a little bit. We thought we would come out in the lead after our pit stop, but we nicked Chaz and copped a 15-second penalty. From there, I had heaps of speed in the last stint. I knew Chaz had been told to let me through and I showed my nose in a couple of spots but unfortunately we came together. I went and apologised to him after that race – it certainly wasn’t my intention. I’m upset that I ruined someone else’s race, but I’m really happy with the team’s performance – we were so fast. Looking at the positives, it puts us in a good place for the finals series next year. Looking back at the year, I’m happy with my results; six wins and a handful of poles. My goal was to win the championship and we fell short of that, but it’s been a great year. We’ve had ups and down, but I’m most proud of the last four or five rounds. It’s great momentum going into next year.”

I thought it was cool seeing Brodie (Kostecki) winning the championship last year and I was in Broc’s situation so I knew how it felt, but right now I don’t know how to take it – it’s really exciting. It’s been something I’ve been working towards for a long time now and to join Red Bull Ampol Racing this year and win with them in my first year is fantastic. I just want to thank everyone in the team who have done a faultless job all year – that’s why we’re in this position. I also want to thank my teammate, Broc. I turn up every weekend thinking he’s going to beat me, so I have to turn up and compete as best as I can and make sure we’re fast. That’s why I think we’re both up here being one-two in the championship. I’ve also loved working with Andrew (Edwards) this year. He’s a super smart guy and we worked so closely in the off season to get to where we are today and made me step up to another level. I think last year I had good raw pace but I didn’t put it together every weekend and I wasn’t consistent. I really wanted to win the championship this year and I knew that would take consistency, and to get a podium every round this year is really cool.”

Obviously Will’s wrapped up the championship, so massive congratulations to him and his team. I knew it was going to be very hard this weekend to get the job done, but I knew we had to win the race. At the start I didn’t really know how to manage that because I was struggling a little bit, but the team did a great job putting me in clean air, and we had a really fast race car in the end. I did all I could and I’m proud of the effort we put in, especially in the back half of the year after Tasmania when we were taken out, we were really strong after that. I’m pumped for the team – my crew’s done a great job.”

After 12 rounds, 24 races, 2 countries, and soon-to-be 7 states, 2024 has been a serious whirlwind but one we’ve loved being a part of. However, it all comes down to two. Lucky for us, it’s our two Bulls. As a team and as competitors, there are not too many better storylines heading into this weekend. A Teams’ Championship wrapped up post-Bathurst, and a Drivers’ Championship to be won by either of the Bulls this weekend. How. Bloody. Good.

We began our 2024 with an almost fairytale start back at the Bathurst 500, where both the bulls shot out the blocks to dominate the first of the year, including Will’s pole in his first go in Red Bull Ampol colours. The Grand Prix down in Melbourne is always a treat, and the Bulls carried their form from Bathurst to finish the weekend with an average team finish of 2nd.

Supercars made a sensational return to NZ, where Taupo showed its true force with a 4-season weather display across the weekend. Despite a slippery and cold Saturday race, the Bulls righted the ship for one of the season’s best on-track battles of the year on Sunday. The series jetted back all the way over to Western Australia for Round 4, where the podiums kept coming amidst a rise in competition.

BFeen put an extraordinarily large full stop to that chatter, as he dominated the Indigenous round in Darwin, sweeping both races with Will in tow. Townsville caught the fellas out, as BFeen battled to a pair of sevenths, and despite a podium on Saturday, Will fell to his worst result of the year on Sunday.

We returned to New South Wales under the bright lights of Sydney Motorsport Park, where in need of another test day, the Bulls pushed on before heading south to Tassie. While boxing gloves weren’t exactly needed, Tassie certainly lived up to the hype as the Bulls scampered to a podium each.

Sandown saw the return of the Goat and the emergence of an old friend, as Jamie and Scotty joined the Bulls for an attack at the 500. Will scored himself a pole and arguably the most important win of this year’s campaign. BFeen and JDub were right in behind and followed the #87 boys’ home for a massive 1-2 finish (We can’t miss the ever-evolving Craig Lowndes and rookie Cooper Murray’s mega 5th place as well!).

Back to Bathurst we went, and after a missed apex on Thursday, the Bulls were on pace for a big result at the 1000. The question of athletics amongst drivers vanished, as the #1 and #88 threw down qualifying lap after qualifying lap for the fastest running of the 1000 ever, interrupted only by a singular safety car. A 2-3 finish and a massive stack of points saw the team secure its 13th Teams’ Championship two rounds early.

It felt like a blink of an eye before we were back on track, not flying down Conrod, but swinging off the kerbs at the infamous Gold Coast 500. There is something truly special about seeing these cars charge around Surfer’s Paradise. A consistent weekend for both the #87 and #88, alongside some untimely misfortune for others, meant we left the Gold Coast with only two in contention. The only two that matter to us.

It is easy to sit and reflect while looking at the weekend to come, and although Will has a 180-point advantage over BFeen, Adelaide is one of the toughest bullrings, even without the addition of championship implications. It has played host to some of the biggest stories in recent years (Hard to believe it, but times flies don’t it Will? ), and this weekend one of our Bulls are about to write their own story into Supercars history. Go give em’ hell Bulls!

“I’m looking forward to getting down to Adelaide and getting into the final round. We’ve worked hard all year to be in the position we are in, so I’m very fortunate to be leading. But you can never get ahead of yourself in this game. We’ve just got to put our best foot forward and try to get some good results. I think it’s one of those things when you lead a championship. You’ve just got to take things as a normal weekend, even though it isn’t quite a normal weekend. We will be aiming to win a race or two down there, which is the main goal. I’ve had some really good runs in Adelaide, and I’ve had some bad runs there, but that’s pretty normal. But I love the track. It’s an awesome event, and it’s a great finale for the series. They put on such a show down there and I’m sure 80% of it is on-track, but all the off-track stuff is just so exciting, even more so this year.”

“I’m excited to go back to Adelaide. It’s been a really happy hunting ground for me. I got my 1st win there in 2022 and then my 2nd win last year. The effort that’s gone in the last few years to get the event to where it is now has been huge, and this year is going to be the biggest yet, so I’m pumped. The championship is going down to the wire. It’s certainly a long shot for me, but my goal is to get the Adelaide 500 trophy back here at home. I love it, I’ve always really enjoyed the track layout. In saying that, it’s a pretty daunting place, but it’s got a lot of character to it. You’re pretty proud when you do a good lap at Adelaide. So, 78 laps in the two races, it’s going to be a fun, but hard race. And it’s a great place to wrap up the championship, but really, I just want to stand on the top step again because it’s been a while.”

I got a good start in the race and I felt really fast. We were fast yesterday so I knew we would be good, but our speed was awesome. I got some moves done at the start of the race and then got caught up with Chaz (Mostert) which cost me a bit of time, but to motor through to second was fantastic. I want to say congratulations to Matt (Payne) and his team. I’m stoked that another young kid has won and it just shows that people should give the young guys a go. I think it’s awesome for the sport to see him up on the top step. I was hoping I was going to go back-to-back and was driving my ass off out there, but unfortunately we didn’t have the pace that those cars had today but we gave it our all. It’s a good way to go out and we locked in P3 in the championship. I want to thank everyone for the support this year. It’s been an awesome year and has been a massive step up from last year on my side. We’ve got a bit to improve on that’s for sure. We want to win the drivers’ and the teams’ championships as we didn’t get those this year, so we’ll come back fighting next year but I want to thank everyone for sticking around, it’s been awesome. I’m gutted for Shane to see it end the way it did today, but he’s had such a good career and it’s been awesome to watch from the sidelines as a fan and to become a mate with him has been unreal, so I can’t wait to cheer him on next year.”

Shane van Gisbergen – Car #97
“Congratulations to Broc and the team on a great result today. It would have been good to have joined him on the podium as I thought our car was going good, but unfortunately we have some sort of issue that we couldn’t fix. It was amazing to again get the fan choice award for most popular driver – I never know what to say when I get awards like that as it’s always a surprise to me. I had some great words of support from people before I raced and at our signing sessions this week which has been an amazing feeling to feel appreciated like that. I struggle to show it back to them I guess, but we had a pretty awesome time with some cool support. Congratulations again to Brodie (Kostecki) as well. He’s been the fastest guy all year and the team made no mistakes, so they deserved to have both championships. We tried our hardest but we couldn’t get it done. I’ve had an amazing time with the team at Triple Eight so thanks to them for a great few years – I had a blast and I’m sure I’ll be back one day.”

We moved forward from the start and got stuck in a battle with (Will) Davison for the first half of the race which I think cost us quite a bit of time. In the last stint in clean air, I think we were really fast. We were really strong towards the end of the stints and I was just having heaps of fun out there and was enjoying the battles with both Brodie (Kostecki) and Chaz (Mostert). The car was fast and we beat the guys we’re battling at the moment, and I think if we can qualify up the front tomorrow we can certainly take it to the other cars. We obviously still have the Teams’ Championship to battle for tomorrow. We’re still a long way behind but it was good to get those extra points on Brodie (Kostecki) and make it a little bit closer. I’m just going to go out tomorrow and try and replicate last year.”

Shane van Gisbergen – Car #97
“Firstly, congratulations to Brodie (Kostecki) and the entire Erebus team for their championship win. It’s pretty deflating the way today’s race ended, but that’s the way these things happen sometimes. The car isn’t looking too bad and I have full confidence that the crew can get it back to one hundred percent tomorrow – it would be nice to finish off the year with a good result. Broc did a fantastic job and managed to close the gap in the Teams’ Championship, so that’s our full focus tomorrow.”

The boys did a mega job to get the other engine in the car and get it out with no problems. I’m feeling pretty disappointed to miss out on the shootout again. The last three shootouts I’ve missed out by a couple of hundredths, so I’m pretty bummed. I’m disappointed to miss out by such a small margin, but I just need to do better because I hate being on the wrong side of the shootout. Now we can focus on the race car and hopefully we can do a long run during tomorrow’s practice and figure out what the car is going to be like. Last year’s first race was pretty wild, so I think anything can happen.”

Shane van Gisbergen – Car #97
“Not the best day for me, unfortunately. I still don’t feel comfortable in the car, but we’ve made tomorrow’s shootout so that’s a box we needed to tick. Looking at the positives, out of the car everyone has been fantastic; the team, the fans, my family and friends – it’s been amazing to have so much support from everyone. Our team in the garage is working super hard so hopefully we can reward them over the next couple of days. We’ll review everything tonight, work hard with the crew and focus on the shootout and the race tomorrow.”
