Red Bull Racing Australia have kicked off the weekend in Perth with a strong final practice session, Jamie finishing third on the timesheets.
“We weren’t lone rangers today in the fact that we’re limited on our tyre bank and we’ll look to burn them up during the races,” the No.1 Holden driver said.
The first two sessions weren’t quite as good on paper though, as saving tyres this weekend is key: “It was good to see we could punch through the times in the third practice session once we had a green set of tyres on.”
Meanwhile, Lowndesy finished tenth in the last practice session, but is confident that the team has a good basis to go off for tomorrow.
“We started the day a little frustrated but at the end of it all we’re happy. At the end of the day we put on a fresh set of tyres, got a set up that we were hopeful that would work and as a combination it was successful.
“Now we’ve got some good information to go forward from where we are and it’s a much better start to the weekend compared to what we’ve had the last two rounds.”
Qualifying for race one starts at 10:15 tomorrow, with the race itself kicking off at 12:25 and race two starting at 14:30, WA time. Click here for telecast times.
