Lowndes returned to Mount Panorama in 2024 as part of Triple Eight’s wildcard entry alongside Cooper Murray. Guiding the Bathurst debutant while remaining competitive throughout the event, Lowndes once again demonstrated the experience and  professionalism that have defined his remarkable Supercars career, despite a late-race setback resulting in 14th place.

Craig Lowndes’ 2024 season saw the seven-time Bathurst winner return to Mount Panorama as part of Triple Eight Race Engineering’s wildcard entry alongside rising star Cooper Murray. Blending decades of experience with emerging talent, Lowndes played a key role in mentoring Murray throughout the endurance campaign while once again demonstrating the racecraft that has made him one of Bathurst’s greatest competitors.

The pair impressed throughout the Bathurst weekend, charging through the field and spending much of the race inside the top ten before ultimately finishing 14th after late-race setbacks. While the result didn’t reflect their pace, Lowndes’ leadership, consistency and ability to remain competitive at the sport’s biggest event reinforced his enduring value to Triple Eight and his lasting influence on the next generation of Supercars drivers.
