One of the defining moments of Brown’s title defence came at the opening round of the Finals on the Gold Coast. During the Saturday Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, Brown was on an exceptionally quick lap and had recorded the fastest opening sector when disaster struck. Carrying immense speed into the Beach Chicane, his Camaro launched over the Turn 9 kerb before sliding into the tyre wall and concrete barrier, leaving significant front-end damage and ending what had looked to be a genuine pole-position challenge. Brown later admitted he had reminded himself not to make a mistake through the chicane, only for the incident to occur moments later.
Despite the setback, Brown and the Red Bull Ampol Racing team refused to let the crash define their campaign. The team repaired the damaged Camaro in time for the race, allowing Brown to continue his Finals challenge. Although the Gold Coast weekend proved difficult, his resilience shone through at the following Sandown Semi Final, where remarkable recovery drives from 15th to second and 17th to third secured his place in the four-driver Adelaide Grand Final. Brown ultimately finished runner-up in the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, capping a determined title defence that showcased his speed, resilience and ability to fight back under pressure.
