Sydney’s Top Gear festival gave the Red Bull Racing Australia and Infiniti Red Bull Racing team drivers Craig Lowndes, Jamie Whincup, Casey Stoner and Mark Webber the chance to meet and have some fun together on the track.
In the ultimate test of speed, Webber (F1), Whincup (V8) and Stoner (motorbike) lined up against each other. Webber comprehensively took out first place in the crowd-pleasing showdown. In the ‘fish out of water’ battle of Lowndes (motorbike) v Stoner (V8), Lowndes lead the way until Stoner screamed home in the final lap to win the race.
And Whincup finally answered the age old question of which is faster – car or plane? – when he beat stunt plane driver Matt Haul in a race off.
The drivers will meet again in Melbourne at this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix, with both teams tipped for a podium finish.
