The sun was shining on the Red Bull Racing Australia team garage on a massive Saturday at the Phillip Island circuit.
Despite the chilly weather, the Holden VF Commodores were hot on track, with both Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes gracing the podium in each of the 60km Super Sprint races.
Both drivers secured a spot in the top three for both qualifying races, with JDub setting himself up with P1 for race one and P2 for race two.
Lowndesy followed closely, placing P3 in both qualifying sessions.
A favourite track for both drivers, the bulls charged into race one, taking every lap in their stride and bringing home a one-two finish with Lowndesy taking the gold.
After a quick breather, the duo were back on track for the final race of the afternoon. JDub secured P1 early on, with Lowndesy not far behind.
With a wave of the chequered flag, the pair crossed the finish line taking P1 and P3 respectively.
A double podium is certainly a great way to start off the weekend! Check out the TV guide for tomorrow here.

Jamie Whincup:
“We pushed hard all day to get a result. We gave ourselves a good opportunity with qualifying in the morning by getting two front row starts. Second behind Lowndesy in the first race was great for team points and it was great to get the chocolates in the second race.”
CRAIG LOWNDES (VF Holden Commodore, Car #888)
Practice Three: 10th (Fastest Lap – 1:31.4320)
Qualifying Race One: 3rd (Fastest Lap – 1:31.2049)
Qualifying Race Two: 3rd (Fastest Lap – 1:30.8923)
Race One: 1st
Race Two: 3rd
Craig Lowndes:
“It’s been a cracking weekend so far, we couldn’t have wished for anything more. I had a good qualifying run and to have two third position starts was positive. To have the first race win was a little bit unexpected to be honest, we had a ripper start and we tried to repeat it in race two. I didn’t quite get the drive that I wanted, but still having a third in that second race was great for points and we’re really looking forward to what tomorrow brings.”
