Feeney Takes Season Pole Record, #88 Fights Up Front as #1 Spun in Wet, Red Flagged Race

Adelaide Grand Final – Qualifying (Race 32) & Race 32 Results

Will Brown – Car #1

Practice 2 – 10th (1:19.1559)
Qualifying (Race 32) – 12th (1:19.4586)
Race 32 – 9th
Finals Standings – 3rd

“Disappointing day, really disappointing day today. Obviously terrible qualifying again, it just doesn’t let you start the race the way you want to and puts you on the back foot straight away. When we’re back in the pack there’s risk of getting caught up and that’s what happened.”

“Got turned around on the first lap, unfortunate even in the wet, but then we had to fight our way back after that. Got up towards the top ten and with some penalties we finish ninth I think for the day.”

“Still third in the standings but it’s tight. Tomorrow we need to go again, qualify well, we keep saying it but it’s time now to do it. Probably need to win tomorrow to stay in it so that’s what we need to go out and do.”

Broc Feeney – Car #88

Practice 2 – 3rd (1:18.8480)
Qualifying (Race 32) – 1st (1:18.9640)
Race 32 – 4th
Finals Standings – 1st

“We made a huge gains overnight which was awesome. Probably struggled a bit more than we thought yesterday and to make a big gain overnight is a credit to the team and a great result for us to go in to the first race with.”

“Went out and got pole position, still a bit of a messy session, still didn’t really feel on top of it throughout qualifying, but to get poll number seventeen was obviously awesome. Didn’t think at the start of the season that would be a thing but to get that record was awesome.”

“Watched the rain come in before the race, fair bit of rain too. Had a decent start, ran up the front for a few laps and then made a bit of a mistake which let some past, but just didn’t have the pace of the front three. So we dropped back a fair bit, need to do some work in understanding what we need to do to be better in these conditions. Obviously we were fast in the wet at Sandown but not quick enough today in the wet.”

“Anyway, lots to learn overnight.
Positive day, we were good in the dry before that rain, we’ll just have a look what the weather is going to do on the weekend then take learnings from today to roll out ready.”
