GOODBYE 2015, HELLO 2016

There is no doubting 2015 has been a roller coaster ride. From Team Owner, to Team Manager AND Owner, to Team Owner again, Roland Dane’s season has been intense to say the least. We had a chat with the big boss, to catch his thoughts on the year that has been and beyond.

This year for RBRA has had both its highs and lows, as a whole, how did you feel the season went?

It wasn’t our best season but it was still one we can be proud of.  14 race wins including another Bathurst can never be sneezed at and to cap it off with the Teams Championship after a massive fight back gives us a great platform for 2016.

What was the most memorable moment of the season for you?

Normally I would always say the Bathurst win as that’s the biggest prize there is for me…But we actually had one of the greatest moments in the history of this team when we rebuilt Craig’s car overnight in New Zealand and then followed that up with a 1-2 in the Sunday race. Only those who have been immersed in a team environment in this sport can really understand that magnitude of that achievement. It was a brilliant moment when we had Jamie and Craig on the podium.

Next year is going to present many new and exciting challenges, from a condensed race calendar to Triple Eight running three cars. What do you feel will be one of the biggest challenges of 2016?

I’m not really sure at this moment what will be the biggest challenge in 2016, but I do know that there are going to be several very strong competitors next year that we can’t afford to be complacent about not least of which will be DJR Team Penske. However, I also know that we have not only a formidable crew ourselves but also three brilliant drivers, all of whom finished the 2015 season Drivers Championship inside the top five.

Do you have a 2016 New Year’s resolution for the team?

As always, my resolution is: Assume Nothing
