Phillip Island – you hard ass. The weekend was tough, to say the least. Punctures, penalties and pace were the talk of the town, with every team struggling in their own right. Here are the RBHRT Top Ten snaps from the Supercars Phillip Island 500.
Proud Podium
JDub brought home P2 from Saturday’s race. Despite not pushing the limit as far as he felt he could have, it was an awesome result in the conditions. “At the end of the day, we were strategic in ensuring we made it to the end, which brought us home in second place. All in all, pretty happy we maximised what we had.”
Persistence is key
Sure, it wasn’t our best weekend, but that doesn’t mean anyone had put in any less effort. Hats off to the pit crew for changing more tyres over a weekend than they probably ever anticipated.
Safety Car Scramble
Saturday’s race saw many a safety car with tyre punctures causing grief. It was a tight dash to the line after nearly finishing under a safety car.
Rain or shine, the fans are there!
Nothing stops you guys! Backing it up after Tassie, the cold weather and rain stuck around, and so did you. We love seeing all the wacky things you bring along for signing.
Pit Lane Blame
Amidst all the drama in tyre land, there was plenty happening in pit lane with penalties being handed out for crossing that bloody line…..#bringbackthecone
Quarter panel with cheese
How many times can you replace a rear quarter panel you ask? It was the real victim of the weekend.
Think pink
Another round, another colourful addition to car #97 for Friday’s practice session.
The circuit with the most
Phillip Island has always been a favourite amongst drivers and is an awesome track to watch on the TV! We just always have to make sure we don’t wake up the penguins.
2 laps, 2 cars, 2 punctures
Yep, when it rains, it pours. We suffered two punctures back-to-back in Sunday’s race. Needless to say, it’s been humble pie for lunch every day this week.
And… of course… more continued bromance
We feel like this will be a trend in these galleries. We challenge you to see us go one weekend without a good, old fashioned bromance.
