PREVIEW: HOMEBUSH

Jamie Whincup – Car #1

“Sydney is a tough event, it can go both ways. I am predicting a scorcher; I think it is going to be a physically demanding weekend. With the championship up for grabs between Lowndesy and Frosty, may the best man win and I am looking forward to getting amongst it in some way. We have had some great pace recently, I feel that it’s important going into next year to have a great final session in Sydney.”

Craig Lowndes – Car #888

“I am really excited and we are in a great position. It is going to be a tough task to try and win the championship, but we are going into Homebush with a lot of momentum and confidence. The circuit is a street track I enjoy.  We have had mixed results previously, with some big crashes, but we have had some great results there too. It rounds off a year which has been very satisfying and I am looking forward to finishing off the season on a positive note.”

Ladies and Gentleman, boys and girls, this is it. After 14 championship rounds (with a sneaky AGP on the side) it has all come down to this. We are on the home stretch at Homebush. With both the drivers and teams championships on the line, we here at Red Bull Racing Australia are ready to charge like a bull at a gate.

The Sydney 500 kicks off Friday with a solid three practice sessions gearing us up for the weekend. Saturday morning sees a fourth practice session, followed by two qualifying sessions.  The final countdown begins Saturday afternoon, with two 125km races back to back.  Sunday morning launches straight into qualifying, with a Top Ten Shoot Out to follow.  The last race of the season kicks off at 3.45pm AEDT.
