“We didn’t have the best preparation on the third and final test day before Sandown. But in saying that, we have been in similar positions before and have been able to recover. It is a circuit I enjoy driving around, mainly from a history point of view, Sandown is one of our most prestigious race tracks that we go to. Fingers crossed Melbourne turns on a nice spring day and we can race hard in some dry conditions. PD and I have spent some time together to make sure we prepare well, so I am sure if we do a good job on Friday and have a good car underneath us, we should have as good a chance as anyone else.

“Sandown 500 is the first of the Enduro’s, it is always an exciting time of year. Steve and I had a great combination and good run there last year. Weather always plays a big part in Melbourne, but thats the same for everyone. So for us it is about getting a car that is good under brakes, rides the curves well as Sandown is one of the bumpiest tracks we go to. Of course making sure we get the elements of the long distance side of it is important and theres no doubt strategy will play a big part. I am keen to get there, we have had great success in the past, its a circuit that I really love.
