WE’VE GOT FORMULA FEVER

With the Formula 1 circus making its way Down Under ahead of the Australian Grand Prix next week, we’ve come down with the annual F1 bug; it’s all we’re talkin’ about.

Luckily this bug doesn’t keep us bedridden, the exact opposite actually, we just can’t wait to head down to the Albert Park circuit and get amongst it all.

With T-minus one week till we hit the track, we asked some of the RBHRT crew which F1 round is their all-time favourite.

Grant “Shippy” McPherson – Car #97 Engineer

“The Australian Grand Prix is my favourite F1 event because it is the first true indication of performance and competitiveness. Pre-season testing generally tells a lot about reliability, but with very different programs being undertaken the lap times can give more questions than answers.”

Roland “RD” Dane – The Boss

“Monaco – crazy to watch the cars on that track!”

Romy “Flushies” Mayer – Car #88 Data Engineer

“Singapore is my favourite. I lived there for a bit more than a year and I’ve been to the race twice. I actually went to the first Singapore Grand Prix ever. As it’s in the middle of the city you really get to soak up the F1 atmosphere. You get to stand right next to the fences on the track which is pretty intense. There is always good racing at that round, and for me, it brings back good memories.”

Hugh “Keysey” Millear – Car #97 Data Engineer

“That is a tough question! There are a few to pick from, if I was to choose from any in history I would go with the Nürburgring Nordschleife, but for current tracks I would have to say Monaco. Seeing those cars at their absolute limit, it is the ultimate track for showing the level that F1 drivers are on.”

Mark “Dutto” Dutton – Team Manager

“Australian Grand Prix is my favourite round because we get to be part of it. It is awesome because it is the first one of the year and it is great to see how teams have dealt with the rule adjustments over their winter off-season.”

Oh, whilst we are here, let’s not forget we gave Daniel Ricciardo the Sandman for some laps last year. Boom!

The Red Bull Holden Racing Team crew head to Melbourne March 23 – 26 to rub shoulders with the best of them at the Australian Grand Prix.
