After a successful whirl around the Queensland Raceway circuit last Thursday, SVG has well and truly settled into the Red Bull Racing Australia family.
With a fully sick new helmet, a brand new chassis and a can of Red Bull in his hand, he took to the day like a duck to water.
Now, as you know, we don’t do things by halves, we like to approach our test days like a mini race weekend. It proves to be a great chance to practice what we preach, and to sift out all the lumps and bumps (both on and off track) before the real racing begins.
So SVG, we ask you, what did you learn from the RBRA test day?
I couldn’t believe how passionate the Triple Eight supporters are! It was a crazy hot day, so to see so many people out there keen to see the new liveries and cars on track was awesome.
We don’t mean to brag (ok, we do) be we have the best fans out of anyone. Not only are you loyal, but you know how to rock the red and blue combo like no other. We know we test you sometimes (like the tyre puncture at Sandown last year, again, we are sorry) but you still stick by us! Not to mention the test day was a scorcher.
I learnt that Portia is a well behaved, fast race car. Two awesome days at the track with no issues and fast lap times, I am very happy!
Glad to hear that Portia hasn’t started off like her rebellious sister Jen (Car #88). The fresh chassis will make her debut at the Clipsal 500, and we are hoping for big things.
I finally got to experience what I had been racing against all these years. Bring on Clipsal!
Well mate, as the saying goes, ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’. Time to run with the bulls.
It is now officially 10 days until the 2016 V8 Supercars season starts at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
