We love to treat our T8M8s when we can and we were excited when our big boss, Roland “RD” Dane, suggested we bring a M8 on tour with us to Darwin.
That lucky person was Michael, and his daughter Naomi, who made the trek to the Top End on us!
As an official Supercars Flag Marshal, Michael is busy working so he (ironically) doesn’t get the chance to watch the races. After being rostered off that weekend, Michael was preparing to sit back and watch the Darwin race from home…. Until he got the call from us!
Flights, accommodation and tickets to our corporate hospitality suite were looked after so all Michael and Naomi had to do was sit back, sip on a Red Bull or two and soak up the action from our suite atop pit lane – and were blessed with the presence of J-Dub, SVG and Lowndesy for a meet and greet.
They also attended a pit tour in our garages where they were able to get up close and personal with our cars and see the crew preparing the cars between track sessions – this is basically as good as the behind-the-scenes access can get!
The prize was that good that we’ve been given the go ahead to run it again for Newcastle, one of our new favourite events.
What’s better is that our suite in Newcastle is on a boat… Yep, you have our permission to sing Lonely Island’s hit “I’m On A Boat” all weekend, provided that you’re actually on the boat and you’re wearing a nautical themed pashmina afghan.
Yep, that’s the same boat that our 2017 Champion, J-Dub, took a backflip off during his post-race celebrations…
