Red Bull Ampol Racing has revealed its 2025 Supercars Championship livery that will feature on the team’s #1 and #88 Gen3 Chevrolet Camaros this season.

The Red Bull Ampol Racing Camaro and it’s 2025 colours were revealed at the 69^th running of the New Zealand Grand Prix at Highlands Motorsport Park in Queenstown New Zealand, where both Will Brown and Broc Feeney are competing in the open wheel racing event.

Supercars and motorsport fans were treated to the unveiling in pit lane as well as hot laps around the Highlands circuit with Broc Feeney at the wheel, the unique New Zealand season launch believed to be a first for a Supercars Team.

This season’s rendition adds white accents and the trademark Triple Eight Race Engineering light blue, to the now traditional Red Bull Ampol Racing matte navy blue.

The team enters the 2025 season aiming to defend both the Supercars Drivers Championship and Teams Championship with Will Brown choosing to run #1 as reigning champion, and Broc Feeney again in the #88.

The Teams engineering line up continues with Andrew Edwards in Will’s corner and Martin Short alongside Broc, both working under the guidance of Technical Director, Jeromy Moore, and Team Manager, Mark Dutton.

With ongoing support from long time naming-rights partners Red Bull and Ampol, the team will again enjoy support from major team partners; ACDelco, Ampol Amplify Premium Fuels, Chevrolet Racing, Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions, JGI, National Storage, New Holland, Quad Lock, Supercheap Auto, ToolPro, Wurth, while welcoming new major partners Freighter and Shaw and Partners.

Both Red Bull Ampol Racing Camaros will be put through their paces at the first pre-season test in Sydney on February 19 before Round 1 of the 2025 Supercars Championship, The Thrifty Sydney 500 kicks off at Sydney Motorsport Park from February 21-23.

Kiwi Supercars fans, your second Christmas is upon us! Supercars action returns to New Zealand for Round 3 of the Supercars Championship and boy, are we excited to be heading back to Taupo!

It doesn’t exactly feel like that long ago we arrived to the sheer sea of people at the Track to Town event on Thursday, the bitter, bitter cold on Saturday (trust us Aussies to struggle!) and well, none of us will be forgetting the Sunday afternoon tussle between the Bulls.

While it certainly isn’t an Albert Park replica, Taupō Motorsport Park has proved to be an extremely racy one. With varied surface types, tyre degradation, a new weekend format with 2x 120km sprint races on Saturday, and a 200km refueling race on Sunday, Taupō requires some serious thought.

We go to a new qualifying format, two different tyre compounds for the sprint races, and no minimum fuel drop for Sunday’s race – better hope Andrew and Marty’s notebooks fit in their suitcases on the way over! While the strategy and teamwork are critical, and while also we love some competition, a slightly less hair-raising repeat of Sunday’s race from 2024 would be just what the doctor ordered, even if we do say so ourselves.

But why take it from us, head below to hear from both Will and Broc as they board the big bird to have a look as this long white cloud and get racing underway over the Tasman!

“I can’t wait to get back to New Zealand. The fans over there are amazing and I had a great race there last year for the first ever Taupō round, so looking forward to getting back there, trying to replicate what we had there last year.”

“I think the smaller track will mean more argy-bargy style racing. There’s less road to put your car on and make moves, which makes for tough racing regardless. I’m looking forward to that again, but we don’t really know until we get there. It’s a slower track so I think everyone will get their shoulders out to try and get past.”

“I’m always aiming for race wins. At the end of the day, everyone that goes out there wants to win a race, and although I’m very consistent at getting podiums, I want to win more races. But it’s hard to always put your finger on what you have to do to do that, ever since I jumped in a car. It’s just trying to find little bits and pieces and the one percenter’s to help us win.”

“I am looking forward to going back to New Zealand. We always talk about it, but the fans in New Zealand are unreal. We really enjoy going there, especially as drivers. You get so much love. It’s an awesome week. The track to town to start the week is fantastic. And then being in front of a sold-out crowd last year was something very special, so it was obviously great to get a one-two finish on the Sunday there, especially for Tony (Quinn) being a part of the team.”

“It’s a very hectic and a full-on track, driving one lap around there is very high intensity. It’s an exciting race because of that. It’s probably our highest level of degradation for tyres throughout the full season and throws a lot of challenges at you.”

“I think the racing is generated a lot by the tyre degradation in Taupō and I think we’ll see that once again this year. Looking at the track, you’d think it’s nearly impossible to pass, but the tyre degradation is so huge there that it just makes so many opportunities. So, I think everyone’s going to be driving at a lesser intensity than they were in Melbourne, but there’s still going to be some great racing. To be honest, I hope we get a wet race as well, like we did last year. It’s always exciting. New Zealand’s always pretty up and down in the weather, so we’ll see what we get. I’m looking forward to getting back over there and just enjoying the weekend.”

Taupō Supercars action begins 11:45AM NZT (9:45AM AEST) with the first of two 30-min practice sessions on Friday. There are plenty of new and classic support categories on show over the ditch, only adding to what will be a massive spectacle this weekend.

“It reminds me how hectic this place is and how challenging it is. I don’t think it’s very often you see so many people making so many mistakes. It’s such a challenging track, but that’s what makes it fun, all these surface changes with the new tyre. It’s been a challenging day, but it’s exciting. It mixes it up. It makes it super hard to get it right.

“We made some great changes today; we made some not-so-great changes so we’ll learn from that overnight. Everyone’s most likely going to say that, but I think we know where we need to be for tomorrow. “

“It’s so hard to even complete a lap without running off here and anyone that can manage a lap without making really any mistakes will be up the front. The Kiwis are going fast here, but for us we know where the time is, so we’re not too stressed. It’s just going to be about putting the lap down and qualifying when it counts”

“We struggled in qualifying today, thirteenth in the first session then we were lucky to get through to the top ten and get the fifth in the next session.”

“That first race we were able to drive through the field and get back a couple places to fifth which I was pretty stoked about. I thought we might be able to do similar in the afternoon’s race, but just didn’t have the pace we wanted.”

“I don’t know what happened in the first stint but it was like we had blistered tires. But yeah, it just went backwards at a rate of knots and then we pitted real early, put another set on, were able to hang on until the end and bank some points in seventh place.”

“But yeah, just a bit of a struggle today. We’ve got a fair bit of work to do tonight so have a look at it, reevaluate and go from there. Tomorrow is a longer race so it’ll be interesting to see how the longer stints go. We’ve been doing a bit shorter stints today and yeah it’ll be interesting to see how we go tomorrow.”

“Qualifying was a bit of a mystery this morning. We struggled a lot in that first qualifying session and missed out on the shootout. We’ve probably never changed the car so much in a qualifying session but then to salvage third in Q2 was really good. We were on a used tire as well, so I think that was a really positive and we made a good step forward.”

“Then race one starting in the pack, we got caught up with the double stack, and then you’re just back in the pack again and we really struggled pace-wise towards the end of the stint. We just kept hitting the cliff at the end of our stint, we didn’t have the pace the other guys had, but then we’d hit a wall and the last five laps felt like it was raining.”

“That second race it would have been awesome to salvage something there. I was running second for the last few laps which was great, but once again that wall came to us and whenever I’d get in a battle with the other guys, I speared off the track, just trying to hang on.”

“So, it’s just been a really tough day but we’ll try and work on it tonight. I mean, we’re strong here last year but just trying to incorporate what we can do to make it better tomorrow.”

“I think we made a few steps forward with the car overnight to get to qualifying today. Unfortunately I made a mistake that stopped us getting into the top ten qualifying and we didn’t end up where we could’ve
so disappointed on that side, but it wasn’t wasn’t our best weekend to be honest. For a lot of people, fifth, seventh and eighth probably still is a consistent weekend and a lot of people would be happy with that, but it’s ended our podium streak which is a little bit disappointing and it was definitely a tough weekend.”

“But I think we captured pretty much the most points we could with what we had.
Starting from twelfth in that race, I sort of made a mistake when I pitted, the guys weren’t ready and it was probably a bit too early, so I had to manage the tires a lot for the stints home. I think it didn’t impact our race overall too badly but still it definitely did hurt us. So a little bit disappointing. The bumping I sort of got out of it because of when I pitted, but I did on the first stint see cars running into each other and thought that you know I might have come out with some damage but I was pretty lucky to get away with it.”

“Hopefully we can bounce back in Tassie, you know it wasn’t our weekend but we didn’t lose too many points and we actually gained points in the Championship which was quite amazing. There’s a few people like Matt Payne that are doing a fantastic job and others that are coming back a little bit so we need to have a strong weekend in Tassie.”

“I think we made gains overnight before qualifying today. We just we made the mistake after that run of thinking we were good enough, but we definitely weren’t. We spoke about it before and we knew we didn’t want to make that mistake, but collectively we made the wrong decision which really hurt because we had a really fast race car today after making those awesome gains. I think we were probably one of, if not the fastest car throughout that race.”

“It was heaps of fun. It was probably one of the most enjoyable races I’ve certainly had in a long time, maybe in my Supercars career, to come from twentieth to seventh and get so close to fifth in the end. Huge credit to the team for digging deep and not dropping the bottom lip today after qualifying. It was obviously a pretty tough start to the day and, you know, we can’t keep having bad results, so to come back and realistically close the Championship gap in that last race was awesome. If we could obviously start the weekend with the car that we ended with, I think we’d be able to fight for wins. But that’s racing. We’ll learn from it.”

“That race was really good. Had to get my elbows out, there was lots of fun. Hectic. I’ve been lucky enough to be up the grid and haven’t actually had to witness it but being in the pack it was pretty wild. It’s pretty crazy and you can see when you pass someone if you touch them, if you touch them at all, they try and get you back in the next corner. So I had some awesome battles out there. It’s obviously great. There’s a lot of guys that race really respectably. There’s some that make it harder than others and some that aren’t happy with how you do it. 
But anyway, I thought I had a good race against all the guys out there, it was just it was just a fun race.”

“At Symmons Plains we’ve been really fast the last few years. It’s probably one of my strongest tracks, and it’d be good to get wins going again. This wasn’t a good weekend, but we should have confidence that we can go there and win races.”
