Eseries Gets The Green Flag

No Supercars? No problem.

With the exciting announcement that Supercars have launched an All Stars Eseries competition, our drivers Jamie ‘JDub’ Whincup and Shane ‘SVG’ van Gisbergen are busy brushing up on their iRacing skills on the sim in preparation for round one on April 8.

For JDub, the opportunity to continue providing racing action to our loyal fans is paramount while the Supercars season is currently postponed.

The ‘circus’ that awaits will be exciting…

“I’m looking forward to having some fun with the Supercars All Stars Eseries and giving the fans something to cheer for until we can hit the track again soon.

“We always want to put on a good show, so it’s great for the sport and the fans knowing we can still race while the season is on hold,” JDub said.

Although JDub has dominated on track over the past 15 years, he’s projecting the younger, whiz-bang generation to run rings around him.

“I usually back myself, but the young blokes have the advantage here. My money’s on my teammate, SVG, to be up the front.

“I know he races against a few of the guys down pit lane, even some of the Formula 1 drivers, so hopefully he’ll be representing the Red Bull Holden Racing Team on the podium.

“It will be a learning curve for me as I haven’t used a sim in a very long time and don’t use it as part of my training, but I’m looking forward to a new challenge and, most of all, I’m rapt that we can still provide some entertainment when everyone needs it most,” JDub said.

For SVG, racing on the sim isn’t unknown territory.

Speaking with Supercars.com, he’s expecting plenty of competitive racing with a hint of banter along the way.

“It’s something to do for a while, there’s not much on TV sports-wise at the moment, so hopefully we can do something.

“I race on there a bit with Scotty [McLaughlin] sometimes, Anton [De Pasquale] and all that, but it’s more for a laugh rather than competitive.

“So I think maybe if we did it with some banter and had a good time [it’ll be good],” SVG said.

Let the best e-racer win, aye boys…

The Supercars All Stars Eseries will be live streamed through the Red Bull Holden Racing Team’s Facebook page, Red Bull TV, as well as broadcast on Fox Sports and Kayo.
