Red Bull Ampol Racing team partners Red Bull, Ampol, and apparel brands Locked Down and Culture Kings are bringing a Broc Feeney theme to this weekend’s Gold Coast 500 with a collection of artwork, apparel and car livery inspired by the sun, surf and sand to celebrate the local driver and his teammate Will Brown from nearby Toowoomba.

    • Red Bull and Ampol have brought to life a fan designed livery which will be featured on both Red Bull Ampol Racing cars on track this weekend

Red Bull Ampol Racing team driver and Gold Coast local Broc Feeney will take to the track this weekend as the Supercars Championship leader going into the inaugural Finals series with the Gold Coast crowd fully behind him.

Additionally, Red Bull Ampol Racing team partners have embraced the Queensland based squad, the #88 driver and his teammate ahead of the race at the Surfers Paradise street circuit.

On Wednesday at the Surfers Paradise Beer Garden, Red Bull will unveil a whole wall mural of home town athlete Broc Feeney designed and painted by Australian artist Gus Eagleton (www.guseagleton.com), inspired by one of the driver’s race winning performances.

Feeney will also be presented with the first of a limited edition eighty eight custom designed Locked Down caps that have been designed and produced in collaboration with Locked Down Founder/CEO Ryan McNamara. The custom caps bring to life a look and theme Feeney feels is synonymous with his hometown, the Gold Coast.

On Wednesday night Culture Kings at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre will host an exclusive fan night with both Red Bull Ampol Racing team drivers Broc Feeney and Will Brown, with their Supercar on display. The fan event is open to the public, and customers who purchase the limited-edition team tee in store will receive VIP access with a driver meet and greet, along with a VIP wristband granting access to refreshments on the night.

Come Friday, both Red Bull Ampol Racing cars will roll out on track with a distinctly different livery on the bonnet and roof. Chosen from fan submissions in a Red Bull and Ampol run in-store and on can promotion, the special themed livery was designed by a passionate fan of the race team and speaks to the beachside lifestyle synonymous with the Gold Coast.

“It’s always exciting to see the fans in the lead up to race weekends but this time it’s bigger, the whole city is getting behind the Gold Coast race. It’s even more exciting being my hometown race that the fans and the brands we work with are making it extra special for the team.”

“To get the opportunity to add my creativity and passion into things like artwork, shirts and hats, designs for the car along with Will and the rest of the team is unreal. There are so many cool touches that you’ll be able to see looking around the Gold Coast and at the track on the weekend. Looking forward to racing on the weekend but until then it’s great to have moments like these happen.”

“It’s awesome to be part of something that celebrates Broc ahead of his home race. I’m stoked to be involved in the action in some way. Hopefully this artwork brings him a bit of good luck for the race!”

“The mural was created entirely with aerosol, featuring Broc Feeney and the Red Bull Ampol Racing team for the Gold Coast 500. The colours, scale, and energy all come together to match the excitement of the race, capturing the moment the team hopefully takes out a win!”

Ryan McNamara
Founder/CEO, Locked Down

“Not only is this a home event for Broc, but it’s also a home event for Locked Down. That makes this project even more special for all of us. To be able to collaborate so closely with Broc by taking his personal ideas, his connection to the Gold Coast and turning that vision into something truly unique has been an incredible experience. Having only eighty eight of these signature hats available makes these a collectors item & something special for the community.”

“We obsessed over every detail of these hats to make sure they didn’t just look good but carried a story with them. I genuinely believe we’ve created something truly unique, a design that stands apart from anything else in the world. It’s more than just an event hat but it’s a reflection of Broc’s ideas, the energy of the event and what we stand for as a brand.”

The Gold Coast 500 starts on Friday 24 October at Surfers Paradise and will be broadcast free-to-air on the Seven Network and the 7Plus app, and on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.
