‘Ignition On’ will be the first look at the Red Bull Ampol Racing team’s inaugural Ford Mustang GT of the Gen 3 era following a manufacturer change after the 2025 Supercars season.
Triple Eight Race Engineering announced in January 2025 they will join forces with Ford Racing, commencing a long term, strategic partnership that will see Red Bull Ampol Racing assume duties as the Supercars homologation team for the Ford Mustang GT from 2026 onwards.
Headlined by the unveiling of the Red Bull Ampol Racing team’s Ford Mustang GT, ‘Ignition On’, the free and open to the public fan event on Saturday 7 February at the Geelong Foreshore will feature activations, live demonstrations, appearances by all four Red Bull Ampol Racing team drivers, and a public signing session alongside what will be a high energy and exciting unveiling moment.
Starting at 9:30am local time, fans will be able to interact with activations from some of the team’s partners, Red Bull, Ampol, Century Batteries, National Storage, Quad Lock, Thrifty and Wurth. Players from the Geelong Football Club will be in attendance with Ford and the manufacturer will showcase a collection of new and classic cars from showrooms and motoring clubs across Victoria.
A pre-show will commence prior to the unveiling moment from 11:00am local time, which will take place on Hearne Parade set against a backdrop featuring Geelong’s iconic Cunningham Pier and promenade.
The fan first look at the Red Bull Ampol Racing team’s Ford Mustang GT at ‘Ignition On’ marks a busy lead in to round one of the 2026 Supercars Championship season with testing scheduled at Ipswich and Sydney, and both Broc Feeney and Will Brown driving in the Bathurst 12HR before cars take to the track at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 20 for the season opener.

“This is a huge moment for Triple Eight and the Red Bull Ampol Racing team. We’re back with Ford after sixteen years and it’s an exciting time to have the blue oval on the car.”
“To be able to take the car to Geelong, Ford heartland, where there’s so much history for that iconic brand and build an event that shows fans who we are, what we do and how we’re racing in 2026 is a great opportunity.”
“This is a race car that’s been designed and built by Triple Eight, has a Triple Eight Powertrain under the bonnet and is going to compete with the backing of Ford Racing globally and our valued partners.”
“It’s exciting. It’s the start of the Triple Eight, Red Bull Ampol Racing and Ford Racing story.”
