Fresher than a pillow with a mint on it, ladies and gents, we give you the Red Bull Racing Australia 2016 livery.
But wait, there’s more!
Going one better again, let’s give a big welcome to the newest member of the team – Shane Van Gisbergen!
With 11 race wins, 48 podiums and a distinctive style that’s made him stand out from the crowd, the 26-year-old Kiwi driver has long been tipped as a future V8 Supercars champion. Finishing fourth in the 2015 Drivers Championship, Van Gisbergen has proved his strength in the category, showing no signs of slowing down.
“I’m pretty excited for this year; it has been a while since it was first announced, so it is a pretty cool feeling seeing the livery and everything coming together in the build-up for the season” said Van Gisbergen.
“I am very impressed with the team so far, it is easy to see why Red Bull Racing Australia has won so many races, Bathursts and Championships.”
SVG rolls with the best of them, even giving new teammate Jamie Whincup a run for his money in the final race of the Sydney 500 last year.
SVG will be driving behind the wheel of car #97 (you read that right, no eight!) alongside Jamie Whincup in car #88 in their Holden Commodore VFs.
Both cars will sport the new 2016 livery, which is unlike anything seen from the Red Bull stable before, the new season war paint is set to impress
In celebration of the new livery, J-Dub will be making a guest appearance at the 2016 Summernats at Canberra’s Exhibition Park this coming weekend on Sunday 10 January to give the crowds a chance to see the 2016 V8 bull in the flesh.
With 55 days to go (who’s counting?) until the season kicks off in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500, there is no doubting these bulls are ready to charge.
Launching into the team in true style (and a cloud of thick smoke) “Gizzy” is the latest addition to the Cappy and J-Dub crew. See below to check out the new livery in action and watch the gang gear up for the season ahead.
