He’s barely waved goodbye to MotoGP and already Red Bull Racing Australia’s Casey Stoner has been recognised for his contribution to motorsport – by the Queen nonetheless.
The 27-year-old, who joined V8 Supercars earlier this year, was appointed a Member of the Order of the Australia for his significant service to motorcycle racing. Basically, that’s political speak for being awarded for flying the Australian flag high with two world championships.
Congratulations Casey, here’s hoping he backs it up with a “significant service to V8 Supercars” in the future.
Casey returns to the track at the Sucrogen 400 in Townsville, tickets and broadcast times at v8supercars.com.au.
