Red Bull Ampol Racing, with support from the team’s major sponsor Shaw and Partners Financial Services, will be racing in support of Gotcha4Life to raise awareness of the non-profit foundation while making donations tied to the on track performance of the #1 and #88 cars at Bathurst.
- Finishing results from the six practice sessions, qualifying and the Bathurst 1000 race will determine how much the team and Shaw and Partners Financial Services donate to Gotcha4Life
- Sporting personalities, Supercars fans and Gotcha4Life ambassadors Jake Trbojevic, Tom Trbojevic, Aaron Woods, Jude Bolton and Supercars broadcast commentator Jess Yates are helping raise awareness of the campaign
- Triple Eight Race Engineering Managing Director and Red Bull Ampol Racing co-driver Jamie Whincup will be auctioning off his helmet from the Enduro Cup in support of Gotcha4Life
Gotcha4Life, founded by Australian TV and radio personality Gus Worland in 2017, aims to build a mentally fit future through preventative mental health campaigns and programs in schools, workplaces, sporting clubs and communities around Australia. By inspiring and enabling Australians to build their mental fitness and cope with life’s ups and downs Gotcha4Life aims to create a suicide-free world where no one worries alone.
Gotcha4Life are partnering with Red Bull Ampol Racing and Shaw and Partners Financial Services for the Bathurst 1000 campaign which will bring the important cause to a new audience tuning in to the biggest race of the Supercars season.
Starting with the first practice session on Thursday, donations will be made to Gotcha4Life based on where the #1 car driven by Will Brown and Scott Pye and the #88 car driven by Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup finish in the results.
Additional donations will be made to Gotcha4Life for any laps led by the Red Bull Ampol Racing cars during the Bathurst 1000 race.
Thanks to the support of Shaw and Partners Financial Services, the potential donation amount from Bathurst could exceed two hundred and thirty thousand dollars if the Red Bull Ampol Racing cars finish top of practice sessions, qualifying sessions, lead laps during the race or win the Bathurst 1000.
Car #88 co-driver and Triple Eight Race Engineering Managing Director Jamie Whincup will also be auctioning off his helmet, worn at both The Bend and Bathurst rounds of the 2025 Enduro Cup, online via Gotcha4Life with proceeds going to the charity in support of building the mental fitness of Australians. This has been made possible thanks to the generosity of Jamie Whincup and the commission-free support of Lloyds.
Jamie Whincup, Managing Director, Triple Eight Race Engineering:
“This is the biggest race of the year for our sport with the most eyes watching around the country, so for us as a team with the generous support of Shaw and Partners to do something so meaningful with Gus (Worland) and Gotcha4Life is such a fantastic and worthwhile opportunity.”
“What Gus (Worland) has been able to do in raising awareness of mental health and the importance of mental fitness has already impacted so many people.”
“Whatever we can do as a team and drivers to make more noise around the cause and keep campaigns and programs that help Australians going is a big plus.”
“We always want to do our best as a team at Bathurst. To know our results will go a long way in supporting Gotcha4Life through donations and raising awareness for what they do is absolutely added incentive for Broc, Will, Scotty, and I behind the wheel.”
Earl Evans, CEO, Shaw and Partners Financial Services:
“Gus Worland has built something remarkable with Gotcha4Life – he and his team are changing the conversation around mental health in this country and creating programs that are genuinely saving lives. It is demanding, unrelenting work, and I am personally inspired by their unwavering commitment to such a critical issue for our nation.”
“At Shaw and Partners Financial Services, we believe every Australian should have access to resources that support their mental health. Gotcha4Life is doing extraordinary work in this space, particularly through their primary schools program, which equips children at the earliest and most formative stage of life with the tools they need to build resilience and manage their mental wellbeing.”
“That belief is why we have supported Gotcha4Life so consistently over many years – not just as a business, but to give back to the community and help create lasting impact where it matters most. Just last month, through the Gotcha4Life 24 Hour Row, our staff across every office in Australia and New Zealand came together to raise $266,000 for the cause. Over the past four years, we have also proudly supported the annual Gotcha4Life Cup alongside Unibet – each of us contributing over $100,000 annually. Together, this campaign has raised more than $1 million, funding programs that make a real and lasting difference in communities.”
“Bathurst is another important moment to stand behind this message. The final donation amount will be significant, but more importantly, it represents momentum – momentum that continues to drive awareness, foster education, and embed mental fitness into schools, families, and communities across Australia.”
Gus Worland, Founder, Gotcha4Life:
“Since launching Gotcha4Life in 2017, we’ve been on a mission to change the way we think about mental health – shifting the focus to mental fitness. So far, we have reached over half a million people, teaching Aussies to speak up, reach out and make sure no one ever has to worry alone. Our goal is simple: zero suicides.
“Shaw and Partners Financial Services have been with us from the very start. Their generosity means we can reach more Aussies than ever through programs, workshops and digital resources that help build emotional muscles, encourage help-seeking and deepen social connection.
“Thanks to their support, we’re excited to partner with Red Bull Ampol Racing and Triple Eight Race Engineering at this year’s Bathurst 1000 – our first time at this incredible event. Sport is so powerful because it teaches us connection, trust and teamwork. Now let’s take that into everyday life – build your village, lean on your mates and remember: you don’t have to tackle life alone.”
The Bathurst 1000 starts on Thursday 8 October at Mount Panorama and will be broadcast free-to-air on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
