“Overall, qualifying was pretty good. We were right in the mix for the whole session, and the biggest thing is we managed to get a heap of laps in. I started to build a bit of a rhythm and got into the shootout. I did a really good lap in the shootout and I was really happy with everything, but we managed to get a kerb strike over the top of the hill which was a shame because we would have been P3 on the grid, and ultimately it put us back to P10 which put us back in the mix for the race. In the race, I got a blinding start and we were in a good position on the first lap. I thought I had the speed to move up a few spots today but I got speared off on the first lap which was pretty silly. We got back going again and I struggled in the first stint, but once we put new tyres on at the end we managed to build momentum – I think I passed five cars in one lap so there was some cool battles and I managed to get back to P14. I got the fastest lap and some points but the biggest thing is to keep finishing. It’s a shame the way today played out but we’ll reset and go again tomorrow.”

“I tried hard to battle with Will (Davison) but he was very fast today. I just couldn’t quite hang with him and then after the pit stop he was miles in front of me. I tried to give it everything we had but we weren’t quite quick enough. I hope we can get a bit more pace out of the car tomorrow because the guys next door are very quick. They had a lot more rear traction then us, so that’s something we’ll need to work on – I may have gone a bit too hard in that first stint too but these are things we’ll discuss tonight. It was still a reasonably tight race but hopefully we can put on a better show for everyone tomorrow.”
