Sydney: Start your engines!

Here we go again, Bulls! Our bags are packed, the transporter is loaded, and our crew are, well….a bit saturated…but bursting at the seams to see some charging bulls once again!

A different-looking Red Bull Ampol Racing will arrive at Eastern Creek compared to our back-to-back-to-back-to-back expedition in late 2021, with a fresh bunch of engineers, mechanics and even drivers donning the team colours to kick off the season.

New kid on the block, Broc ‘BFeen’ Feeney is like a kid in a candy store as he counts down the days to his first Supercars race as a full-time driver.

“I’m honestly so excited thinking about my first Supercars event in Sydney for Red Bull Ampol Racing.

“My preparation in the off season has been fully focussed on getting myself ready for the first event, and we had a pretty successful test day at Queensland Raceway the other week, so I think my engineer Marty and myself have done what we can to hit the ground running this weekend.”

Defending Supercars Champion, Shane ‘SVG’ van Gisbergen, says although disappointed not to be heading to the streets of Newcastle for the season opener, the new-look Red Bull Ampol Racing is raring to go in Sydney.

“It’s obviously disappointing that we couldn’t kick of the season in Newcastle, but I’m super excited to return to Sydney Motorsport Park for the opening round. It’s been a really long off season, but I’m raring to go again.

“I’ve obviously had an engineering change with Andrew Edwards coming on board, and he’s settled into the team pretty well. Hopefully we can carry in some good momentum into the opening round, bag a good amount of points and set ourselves up for another hard-fought season.

“It was awesome to get back in the car again at our test day because I absolutely love these cars. You always get a rush driving these cars, and I’m looking forward to battling everyone again.

“I think Broc is well prepared and has been putting a lot of effort into his preparation. He’s got all the tools, and all the talent, and I’m excited for him to get out there.

On track again begins Friday, March 4 with coverage on both Seven Network and Fox Sports.
