The dream team is back for 2016, with Paul “PD” Dumbrell and Steven “Richo” Richards again joining Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes for the PIRTEK Enduro Cup.
With PD signing up for his fifth year of co-driving and Richo heading into his third, the awesome foursome is once again ready to take the Enduro season by storm.
“Having both drivers back for the Enduros next year is great for all involved. PD and Richo are a part of the Triple Eight family, they are team players and are quick on the track” said Team Manager Mark Dutton.
With Lowndesy and Richo taking the title of 2016 Bathurst 1000 Champions in 2015, the duo is excited to join forces driving under the TeamVortex flag next year, Richo confirming a two year contract. Between them, the pair has conquered the mountain an incredible 10 times and they aren’t showing signs of slowing down.
“I’m rapt. It’s a pretty easy course to have. You know you’re always in with a shot when you’re with these blokes,” says Richo, speaking to CarsGuide earlier today.
“Lowndsey and Richo winning Bathurst this year was epic. We wouldn’t mind another one of those for next year, a one-two-three finish would be the dream!” says Dutton.
With double the drivers, double the laps and double the work, the Enduro season is one of the biggest events on the V8 Supercar calendar.
“The Enduro Season is without doubt the busiest time of year, so to have drivers you can rely on and know always deliver 100%, it’s all you can ask for really” says Dutton.
The 2016 Enduro Cup will once again kick off in Sandown, 16-18 of September.
