Triple Eight Celebrates 250 Supercars Events

Weddings, 21st birthdays, staff Christmas parties….we all love a celebration, and here at Triple Eight, we have a milestone of our own to celebrate!

This weekend’s Sydney SuperNight marks Triple Eight Race Engineering’s 250th Supercars event, an achievement reached over the last 18-years in the sport.

Under the many team guises over this time, Triple Eight has notched up an incredible 216 race wins, 146 pole positions and 439 podiums.

Speaking on the milestone, Triple Eight’s Managing Director and Team Principal Roland ‘RD’ Dane commended the efforts of his staff over the past 18-years.

“Back in 2003, I was only thinking about the next couple of years for Triple Eight, not the next 18,” RD said.

“It’s hard to look 18 years ahead, but it’s still a milestone which is good to acknowledge and a good box to tick. I regard still being here, personally and as a business, as one of my main achievements.

“I’m proud off all the people that have contributed to our 250 events over the last 18-years and what we’ve done collectively. I’m always proud of the collective achievements on an ongoing basis.

“There are all sorts of people who have helped us over the years to kick as many goals as we have, but the four biggest contributors to our success in terms of partners undoubtably are Ford and General Motors, as well as Vodafone and Red Bull.

“Although we don’t have anything to do with Ford anymore, we still acknowledge the fact that we achieved our first successes in Australia with them before we could get back on the GM side of the fence.”

The Sydney SuperNight will kick off on Saturday 6 November in a two-day, three-race format.
