In Darwin we witnessed history being made as Craig Lowndes claimed his 100th race win. Now we’re taking a look back at some of his most memorable podiums throughout his career with Triple Eight.

Eastern Creek 2005 – It was the beginning of a new chapter for both Lowndesy and Triple Eight, ending a dry spell for the three-time champ that stretched back to 2003 and etching the team’s first ever win into the record books.
Bathurst 2006 – He cites this one as his career highlight. Peter Brock was lost shortly before the Great Race that year and the stars aligned on the day for the rightful man to hold the trophy aloft.
Bathurst 2008 – Conquering Mount Panorama once makes a legend of a man, but winning the race three times consecutively is the stuff that dreams are made of.
Bathurst 2010 – Two of the sport’s best joined forces for the enduros that year, and together Lowndes and Skaife lead home a Triple Eight formation finish.
Ipswich 2012 – Clean sweeping a round is an incredible achievement and display of dominance, so when Craig won all six Ipswich races in a row across 2011 and 2012, it was clear he had the magic touch at his home track.
Clipsal 2013 – first blood can be sweet and this was a particularly juicy win – Red Bull Racing Australia’s debut, the first Car of the Future race and he leveled Skaife on 90 wins to join him as the most-winning driver.
Perth 2013 – The joint score didn’t last long though. Craig’s won more races at Barbagallo than anyone else, so it was only fitting that this should be the site of his 91st win, making him the most successful driver in the sport’s history.
Gold Coast 2013 – It was the inaugural year of the Enduro Cup and who could have been more fitting than the marathon master himself to take him the trophy?
Tasmania 2015 – Craig was untouchable that weekend – all three poles and touching distance from that 100th win. Although he missed out on the ton in Tassie, the stars would align later…
Darwin 2015 – Hollywood could not have written a better script. In a fairytale-like twist, an average weekend in the Top End produced a result that will be remembered for many decades to come, as Craig Lowndes took his 100th win the day before his 41st birthday in the 888th race of the V8 Supercars Championship aboard the No.888 Red Bull Holden.
