Broc Feeney – Car #88

“We struggled this morning in qualifying. The track ramped up quite a bit, more than we thought, but we just struggled for pace, so we have a fair bit to work on in that sense. We were four-and-a-half tenths off pole, so we’ve got a bit to work on there. We really maximised the race after what was a poor qualifying. We got a great bank of points and claimed another round win which was awesome – that’s now two in a row, so I’m really stoked with that. I’m happy to capitalise on what was not looking like the best start to the day. Overall, we obviously didn’t qualify well this weekend, but we had fantastic race strategy and moved our way forward and the team did a fantastic job.”

Shane van Gisbergen – Car #97

“The biggest credit for this weekend goes to our mechanics. They busted their asses all weekend to try and make the car go better, but we keep finding so many problems. It’s a shame that they’re parts that we can’t go back to the workshop and make better – we have to deal with these things, it’s tough. I had a lot of car troubles in today’s race. The steering had a mind of its own, my throttle was jamming and cutting out, and my brakes weren’t working. At every brake zone, I was hoping my throttle was going to return and had my foot hovering over the clutch in case that happened. We were really lucky to end up where we did and we obviously got a decent points haul, but overall it was a really tough day.”

Jamie Whincup – Team Principal

“This weekend was a roller coaster. We had some challenges and some fantastic highs, but our debrief list is going to be long because not everything was smooth sailing. Getting a podium yesterday was fantastic, but we certainly got out of jail today. We qualified 13th and dead-last, but we nailed the strategy, got a little bit lucky with the safety car and ended up fourth and fifth. Honestly, we should all be high fiving each other after that performance, because it could have been a lot worse, and we could have lost a lot of team points, but we didn’t. Broc seems quite happy in his car, but Shane still has his gremlins with his car that were there in Darwin. The team hunted for those all weekend and we’ll continue to hunt when we get back to the workshop so that Shane is much happier in the car. We also got the round win, and it’s not every day you can say that especially when the category is so competitive.”
