“We’re in the top 10, so we’re happy. That’s what you’ve got to achieve on Fridays these days, especially here where you’ve got very limited tyres. We ran through our program, which went to plan. I’m not getting too carried away though or over-confident because we were quite good on Friday at Phillip Island and it turned pear-shaped. We’ve managed to have a good Friday again, but the hard work is now making sure that we can consolidate the effort we put in today to have as good a weekend as we can.”

“It wasn’t the easiest day today, we had a lot of understeer. This isn’t my favourite track, I’ve never gone that well here. It’s hard to feel any changes in the car, but I think we’re there or thereabouts. The car just doesn’t give you any feeling when it’s this low grip. We put new tyres on and it feels okay, but I don’t know. We finished inside the top 10, so that’s positive because it means we go straight through to the second qualifying session tomorrow. We’ve also got another practice session tomorrow before qualy, so at least we can run through any changes we make overnight.”
