“In Qualifying we made a gain during the run and just went hard, we did our quickest time when we needed to, right at the end. The one-two grid lockout was a great result for the team and it put us in good stead for the race. However, we just de-tuned our car, it had absolutely nowhere near the pace needed today, I was just hanging on to the thing. It had no tyre life and we just had to keep creeping back through the field. To win these races you have got to be quick and we were far from that today.”

Shane van Gisbergen – Car #97
Practice 4 – Fourth (Fastest Time: 0:55.3315)
Qualifying –  First (Fastest Time: 0:54.9054)
Race 2 – Fifth

“Qualifying was alright today, we were straight through to Q2 which was good and then we got pole but I don’t remember how it played out. I had a rubbish start in the race and then we had to stack in the pit stop which was no good. We had a heap of fuel on board while we were out the back and we were just stuck in traffic so we decided to be aggressive, we had the tyres. It’s a hard one, I think we did the right thing in stacking but if it was at the front we would’ve been able to race the front so it was a weird one. The last stop was good, we had better tyres than the others and we were able to come through but again, the stacking killed us. Autobarn Lowndes Racing did a good job, they stacked as well and got up the front. It’s alright, it’s my worst track and I finished with a third and a fifth so that’s good.”
