“Today’s first race was a tough one. Even though we qualified P4, I didn’t have the best start and was in sixth position pretty quick, but then the safety car came out just before we were about to pit, and I had to double-stack behind Shane (van Gisbergen), so I lost a bit of time there. When I came back out, I think I was 12th, but on the restart I felt like I had an issue with the left-front tyre and I thought it was going down, and into Turn 11 I had a lock up and went off the track. We then came into the pits and changed tyres and ended up doing three pit stops in a one pit stop race. We salvaged as much as we could and managed to get P15. It certainly wasn’t the race that we hoped for after starting from the front, but the biggest thing was getting as many points as we could and making the most out of a bad situation. I certainly had a good race in Race 2 today though. Our car pace was really strong and I’m starting to get more comfortable with the track. I had a decent start and got in the mix a bit, but once a few cars in front of me started to pit and I had a bit of clear air, I started to show some real pace. I came out right with Chaz (Mostert) and made a move on him, but I made a little mistake and was stuck behind him for the rest of the race. I had the pace to achieve a P4-position, but I was happy with P6. I’m still learning, and the car is really good, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”

“The car was a jet today. Our pace wasn’t so much there with the soft tyres, but we were so quick on the hard tyres. I’ve never had such good pace, so that’s very cool. The track is really cool to race on as well, and there’s some fun places to pass. You can do some bombs, or some switch-backs, but overall the track is awesome to have some cool battles on. I guess some of the drivers further down are having some dramas which is a shame because there seemed to be a few crashes today, but up the front it’s really good racing. I’m really looking forward to the race tomorrow and hopefully cap off a good week for the team.”
