“Our first qualifying session wasn’t great. It was a tricky session and having the slick tyres on was a hard one to pick and timing was everything, but we got caught out by the red flag and ended up with P21. I was so fired up and so frustrated after that one. I felt quite confident going into the next qualifying session. We had good timing and managed to get an awesome lap in and it was a lot of fun to get my first Supercars pole. Today’s race was pretty crazy. There was so much stuff going of; crashes, safety cars and all of that happening. For a race with so minimal green laps there was so much fun and I got to make so many cool passes. I feel like it was one of my better races – I was able to make moves and move through the field pretty quick and have a lot of fun along the way. There were a couple of penalties in the end so to get P7 after starting in P21 after only a handful of racing laps is such a cool feeling.”

“I definitely didn’t think I would finish today’s race with a podium. The start of the race was pretty crazy – I had a moment with Chaz (Mostert) at turn three when I passed, and at turn four he had some mad understeer into me. For the rest of the race, I tried to do what I could, and I caught up to the front. There was some craziness in the pit lane with tyres and everything flying everywhere, and then Bryce (Fullwood) went really early at pit exit and I think he was penalised for that, and then Will (Davison) must have had an unsafe release, but I’m happy to be here (on the podium). Tomorrow’s race will be exciting battling for the Larry Perkins Trophy with Brodie (Kostecki). I bumped into Larry today and he’s a hero of mine – it was a pretty awesome moment to win that last year and be presented the trophy by Larry himself, and this year to still be in the running is really cool. I thought it was all over for me today, but to finish on the podium and get the fastest lap points as well which edges me up a bit. We start mid pack tomorrow so it’s going to be a great battle, but I’m really looking forward to it.”
