“It was a good rebound to be third after facing some challenges yesterday. I didn’t think we would be third because the car still didn’t feel fantastic but today was a big improvement from yesterday. The team did a good job overnight to work on the car and make a few changes. We’ve still got a lot to work on, we don’t quite have the pace that we need to be fighting up the front. We were lucky to end up where we did today, but it sucks to lose a podium on the last lap, I just had absolutely nothing left. We’ve got a lot to work on before the next round to make sure we are a lot stronger than we were this weekend.”

Shane van Gisbergen – Car #97

“As I’ve said all weekend, I want to thank the team for doing so much work trying to understand the problems I’ve been having with the steering and the car. At the wildcard test day when I drove their car, I could definitely feel the difference, so we knew there was something to find in our car. After a couple of difficult runs over the past couple of events, this weekend’s results mean a lot. We’ve known since Darwin that there was an issue with the car – we were changing things in between every session but the team never gave up on finding what the issue was, now we think we know what the issue was so hopefully it’s positive from here.”
