“It’s good to be back in Townsville. I really enjoy coming up here to race and I really enjoy the track, especially now we’re back at a street circuit. We didn’t have a bad day, although I’m a little disappointed in my efforts towards the end of the second practice session today. We have a bit of improving to do overnight, but I can also do a fair bit better myself. I’m going to enjoy the long races here and I’m looking forward to returning to the refueling races where strategy makes a big play in the race. We’ll put the work in overnight, do a good job in qualifying and hopefully we stay up the front.”

“I felt good after the first practice session this morning, but as the day went on the track changed and our car went away a bit. My first new tyre run was good, then we tried something different for the second one but we just missed the mark a bit, so we need to come up with a set up that suits that track, but also tomorrow morning’s track is going to be completely different again so we need to factor that in. Qualifying will be very interesting tomorrow. You don’t have enough tyres to do two runs tomorrow, so we’ll probably be shuffling tyres and doing some funky stuff like that. The races themselves are going to be tough considering the tyres we have at play as well. Everyone will likely put soft tyres on at the end, and it will be whoever’s brave enough to put them on early and try to make it last. Our race starts are so important this weekend, and it’s something we’ve practiced a lot during our test days. We’ve lost a lot of races this year by not getting a good enough start, so that’s a massive focus for us this weekend. It’s so hard to pass in modern Supercars these days, and if you can get to the front at the first corner or jump a row, you’re at a massive advantage.”
