“I really enjoyed today, especially driving a supercar around this track. It was definitely different to the Excel I drove here a few years ago. We focussed on some longer runs in the first practice session today, then we did some qualifying simulation in the second session. We managed to get P7 in the last session even though we didn’t do a very good job, but we’ll bounce back tomorrow and fingers crossed we can go a fair bit quicker. As we’ve seen with Shane (van Gisbergen), our cars are quick around here, but we certainly have some areas to improve on tomorrow. It’s obviously a different format this weekend. Today works well because you have a lot more time to debrief your sessions without rushing, but tomorrow morning we’re straight into qualifying. Because it’s a three-part qualifying, we’ll try and get through the first two, and fingers crossed we make it into the shootout so we can have some fun out there.”

“We made a lot of changes throughout our two practice sessions today. In the second session, we made a few changes from our first qualifying run to our second qualifying run, but it didn’t make the car better. We’ll go back to our first run and try and tune that before qualifying tomorrow, which is going to be super important. Otherwise, I think everything went pretty well today. The first practice session was about tuning the car for the races and I felt comfortable with that. The tyre pressures this weekend are so high, so if you don’t get a good qualifying result, the races will be extremely difficulty. You need to be up the front – if you’re following, it’s going to be super tough to race.”
