The heavens opened up
It was one of the wettest events we’ve had in a long time and that made qualifying pretty damn exciting.
The winning combination of Jamie Whincup and David Cauchi shone as they took home the pole position in Race two.

When life gives you puddles, you gotta play in them! The Symmons Plains circuit literally had rivers running across it come Sunday’s qualifying session.
Saturday’s drama brought home a Triple Eight one-two-three. Rightly, no points were awarded, but this bizarre moment was definitely a memorable one.

Saturday’s disastrous crash that took out half the field saw those still in the running wait on the grid until all carnage was cleared.
