“Overall, it’s been a very tough weekend. We’ve been pretty slow in qualifying unfortunately and started more towards the back then we would’ve liked. We didn’t have great starts in either of today’s races. We made some changes for the last race today and the car felt really good. We had good speed and were pretty quick out there. Unfortunately, we got in a bit of contact right at the end there. It’s been a really tough weekend, we lost a lot of points to the lead even though we’ve moved up to third in the championship. We’ll hopefully do some making up in the next few rounds to close the gap to those guys in the lead.”

Shane van Gisbergen – Car #97

Qualifying, Race 21 – Fourth (1:50.4954)
Qualifying, Race 22 – Seventh (1:50.1635)
Race 21 – Fifth
Race 22 – Fifth

Championship standings – Second (1758 points)

“Again, I just want to say a big thank you to the team. They changed five steering racks this weekend, just to try and find the feeling that I am looking for in the car, which just isn’t there at the moment. We are trying so hard to fix problems and find that feeling but we are still struggling at the moment. All in all, we did get consistent points over the weekend but there is still a lot more work to do to understand what it is we’re missing in the car.”

Jamie Whincup, Team Principal, Red Bull Ampol Racing

“Unfortunately, it wasn’t the weekend we would’ve liked. It felt like we were on the back foot all weekend. Shane did a great job, although he still isn’t happy with the steering on the car he pushed through all weekend and scored some valuable points. BFeen was doing a great job in the second race and then towards the end came together with (David) Reynolds and ended up in the gravel and finished last as a result. We’ve got some work to do once we get back to the workshop to make sure we are ready for the enduros coming up, kicking it off with Sandown.”

Teams Championship:

Second (3395 points)
