Phillip Island 400 Fast Facts
- This year marks the 25th time the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit has hosted ATCC/V8 Supercars racing.
- Triple Eight got off to a good start at Phillip Island, Lowndesy claiming the win in our first ever race at the Victorian circuit back in 2005.
- Craig also holds the record for most poles at the Island with five to his name, three of which have come with Triple Eight.
- Overall we’ve claimed six of the last nine race wins here, two of which were endurance victories when the circuit hosted the Phillip Island 500.
- We don’t like to talk about it (the boss is a tad superstitious) but there is a chance Jamie could wrap up the 2014 championship this weekend if he finishes PI with a margin of over 300 points.

What the Drivers Say
Lowndesy: “Phillip Island is a beautiful track. It’s fast, flowing and it’s a good driver’s track. We were very strong there last year and hopefully will be again this year.
“It’s a very important weekend for me and obviously for the team. It’s twofold for Jamie who could obviously clinch the championship, but for me the focus has shifted to getting back to second in the championship, which is really what we aim for. Phillip Island, being a good track for us in the past, presents a good opportunity to do this. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.
“It’s the last Super Sprint race of the year and I think it’s worked well, but I prefer the longer races, so I’m looking forward to closing out the sprint races and getting into Sunday’s race, which is more my style. If we can finish Phillip Island off on a positive it gives us good confidence going into the last round of the year.”
J-Dub: “Phillip Island is one of the best tracks we go to – it’s unbelievably picturesque and a world class circuit.
“We had an up and down run there in 2013. Hopefully we learnt a bit there last year to put us in good shape for this time around.
“It’s all systems go for me. I’m not conserving, I’m not really looking for points or anything. I’ll just be going out there, going hard and preparing, doing exactly what I’ve been doing for the last six months and see how far up we can get Car No.1.”
